PC Michael Smith is the proud owner of a seaplane, the Southern Sun. He has set out on a journey following the 1938 Qantas Empire Flying Boat route to London. To put it bluntly, a heck of an expedition. All this alone, in his single engine craft bearing the RYCV registration of R1938.

Floating pontoons re-installed - thank you!

Doug Hem, Steve and Joel have repaired and have now re-installed the floating pontoons under the western blue crane. This will give much needed new usable working area and launching facilities for boats using this crane. New galvanised steel whalers have been fitted that should have a longer life than the original timber whalers

YV Developing Future Women Leaders program

In one of the surveys that YV have conducted, female sailors responded that they would like to see more females in club leadership roles and they felt this would encourage further female membership and participation as well as enhancing the female friendliness of their clubs. This program has been designed specifically for YV to help women to develop and build on their leadership skills.

NOR released for 2015 AWKR

CAlling all women sailors - the 25th Australian Women’s Keelboat Regatta is less than 3 months away... This year, the organisers are expecting 200 competitors representing every state and territory of Australia, as well some international visitors. The NoR has now been released, so its time to start getting ready.

Review of the Club's rules

Members are invited to take an active interest in the most fundamental review of the Club’s rules in living memory. The General Committee is intending to modernise and update its Governance with rules that are easily understood and promote members rights and democratic control of their Club. This review is an opportunity for members to have a say in how their Club’s governance can be improved.
