Club Election Results

At the Annual General Meeting, held on 19th September 2015, the Club held elections for the position of Club Captain and General Committee. Club Captain - Captain David Ellis was successful defeating John Robb. General Committee - Blake Anderson and Liz Meyer were successful defeating PC Ray Borrett, Claire Fazakerley and John Robb.

From John Raff (Kate R53): It’s a few weeks since Hamilton Island race week and we are still excited by the success of RYCV yachts and crews. Kate, Sea Wafer, Karm, Chantilly, Elusive and Charm Offensive all did well and there was great friendship between the crews during delivery and racing.

The IFDS Worlds is now the Para World Sailing Championships

Did you know that in late November this year, the Club will be hosting the 2015 Para World Sailing Championship? You'll have heard all about the IFDS Worlds, right? Well, the IFDS Worlds has updated its name to the Para World Sailing Championship, following the merger of the IFDS into ISAF. Same regatta, different name!

Second place for Sea Wafer

Sea Wafer proudly bore the RYCV name on its stern finishing second overall in Division 3 Cruising with Spinnaker at the Hamilton Island Regatta. In two of the races Sea Wafer finished first over the line.

OTB Marine Victorian Sailing Cup Series 2015

Yachting Victoria have released the Notice of Series for the 2015/16 OTB Marine Victorian Sailing Cup Series (VSC) - Yachting Victoria’s series for Junior and Youth classes. This series is based on the same concept as the ISAF Sailing World Cup but specifically for junior and youth sailors, to build fleet racing experience.

Review of the Club's rules

Members are invited to take an active interest in the most fundamental review of the Club’s rules in living memory. The General Committee is intending to modernise and update its Governance with rules that are easily understood and promote members rights and democratic control of their Club. This review is an opportunity for members to have a say in how their Club’s governance can be improved.
