Doug Hem, Steve and Joel have repaired and have now re-installed the floating pontoons under the western blue crane. This will give much needed new usable working area and launching facilities for boats using this crane. On Wednesday night, we collected donations at dinner after the final twilight race of the season, raising $1,168.90 BUT there was more. Doug Hem offered to make 'table boats' at $50 each, all to be donated to the Vanuatu fund. So, a grand total of $1,818.90 was raised. Well done all and thanks to Doug! In one of the surveys that YV have conducted, female sailors responded that they would like to see more females in club leadership roles and they felt this would encourage further female membership and participation as well as enhancing the female friendliness of their clubs. This program has been designed specifically for YV to help women to develop and build on their leadership skills.more

This year, the organisers are expecting 200 competitors representing every state and territory of Australia, as well some international visitors. Members are invited to take an active interest in the most fundamental review of the Club’s rules in living memory. The General Committee is intending to modernise and update its Governance with rules that are easily understood and promote members rights and democratic control of their Club. This review is an opportunity for members to have a say in how their Club’s governance can be improved.more
